UK RHD Haf

Of course, the Haflinger was also built with right hand drive for Great Britain (and also for many other countries with left-hand traffic). Here you see a beautiful early 1962 exemplar of a Pre-Series RHD model owned by Julian Berry.

The smaller second hole in the side panel of the front footwell is used to fit the shaft that connects the gas pedal with the centrally mounted throttle linkage.

According to the year of make, this Haflinger has no rear splash guards and combined break- and indicator lights.

Nice, original interior (exept for the type plate which was wrongly mounted on the dashboard).

This is another 1962 Pre-Series Haflinger which was nicely restored by Dale Harrison.

It's a version with Power Take Off, that drives a winch, which is fitted under the platform instead of the right footwell. The Series 1 fuel tank was only fitted because the original one was badly rusted.

This lovely Series 2 Haflinger also belongs to Dale Harrison. It's a fairly late model which was produced in 1974.

Typical equipment in the UK: Rear bumper (no front one) and hitch. An anomaly is the second Steyr Puch badge which was fitted on the rear board of Series 1 & 2 Haflingers that were exported to Great Britain.

This Haflinger has the late steering wheel that you will find only on 74 models. Again characteristic fo the UK: Heater with heat exchangers.

This part is rarely seen today and was only fitted to British Series 2 Haflingers with steel front: The MkII-Badge (stands for "Mark II").

A very nice 703 AP right hand drive example with polycab, formerly owned by Douglas Gorrie. Note the horn which is, in this case, mounted on the left side.

Sadly, there are not only such beautiful vehicles in Great Britain...

...many fell victim to the atlantic climate and the (sometimes) salty conditions.

Baron Alistair McAlpine of West Green driving a Series 1 Haflinger in the mid 60s.

Auch der Baron Alistair McAlpine fuhr Mitte der 60er einen Haflinger.
