AT Army Radio
|
The Austrian Army Radio Haflinger was built in the years from 1963 to 65 and the design is basically very
similar to the regular Army Haflingers. The speciality of this version is, that there was a radio equipment
fitted instead of the left rear seat. There was also an extra battery for the transmitter which could be
charged by a generator that was mounted on the central tube and driven by the Haflinger's power
take off. The antennas were fitted onto special rails that rise through the canvas top behind the front
seats. Also, the Radio Haflinger had an additonal canvas dividing wall between the front and the rear
seats. This allowed the radio operator to sit in the rear with no light getting to the outside. More infos

Der Bundesheer-Funkhaflinger wurde von 1963 - 65 gebaut und ist dem "normalen" BH-Hafi
grundsätzlich sehr ähnlich. Wie der Name schon sagt, war diese Haflinger-Version allerdings
mit einer Funkanlage ausgestattet, die statt dem linken hinteren Sitz montiert wurde. Die extra Funkbatterie
konnte mittels einer zweiten, vom Nebenantrieb betriebenen, Lichtmaschine geladen werden. Die zwei
Funkantennen saßen auf Aufnahmen, die hinter dem ersten Verdeckbogen durch das Planenverdeck
ragen. Weiters hatte der Funkhaflinger eine Trennwand zwischen Vorder- und Rücksitzen, sodass
der Funker hinten Licht machen konnte, ohne dass man es von außen bemerkte.
