Type 1
Please note that this page is about Series 2 Haflingers, "Type" refers to the different Series 2 US-Haflinger types.
Only few US version Haflingers were made in Series 1, so there is an extra page for them.

The USA Version "Type 1", as I call it, has the large 7'' Sealed Beam headlights and special rear lights, but it does not have the "Pathfinder" plate and Lucas Side Markers. Here you see a very basic version without any hoodsticks and "side rails" instead of real boards. Source of the photo: Archive Dr. Rudolf, published with his permission.
Die USA-Ausführung "Typ 1" hat die großen 7 Inch Sealed Beam Scheinwerfer (also Reflektor und Glas in einer Einheit), die in den USA vorgeschrieben waren, sowie spezielle Rückleuchten. Jedoch hat diese Version im Gegensatz zum Typ 2 kein "Pathfinder" Schild und keine Seitenmarkierungsleuchten. Abgebildet ist eine Grundausführung ohne Verdeck und mit "Galerie" anstelle der Bordwände.

This is a very original Type 1 USA Haflinger in nice condition. Note also the tail lights.
Ein wunderschöner, originaler Typ 1 USA Haflinger in super Zusand. Man beachte wiederum auch die Rücklichter.

Here you see a close-up shot of the Type one rear lights. The special vertical sheet metal construction looks different compared to the Type 2 version and has no red side marker light.
Das spezielle Halteblech für die Rückleuchten sieht etwas anders aus als beim Typ 2, der außerdem noch Seitenmarkierungsleuchten hat.

I will send you photos of my North American model Haflinger Bj '71 showing the rear lamp arrangement. Would you care for photos of any other details?
Also I need an oval style muffler for my Hafi if you know of any available for less than ridiculous price.
